COVID-19 UPDATE

Restrictions due to Covid-19

  

As government guidelines change on COVID-19 restrictions, Top to Toe Physiotherapy would like to assure you that it is still our priority to keep you safe during your appointment at our clinics.

  • Complete our COVID-19 screening questionnaire to make sure it's safe you attend our clinics

  • Face masks will not be mandatory but are advisable due to the close contact with our practitioners

  • All clinical staff will be wearing face masks and any other PPE outlined by the governing bodies for physiotherapy and sports massage

  • Hand sanitiser is required upon entry and exit of the clinic

  • All communal and clinical rooms will be disinfected in between patients

  • Come alone to your appointment where possible

  • Contactless or BACS payments are still preferred but we will accept cash

 

Please cancel your appointment if:

  • You develop symptoms or test positive for COVID-19

  • You are notified as a close contact of someone who tests positive (e.g. a friend or member of your household), you still need to isolate for 10 days

Clinic Capacity and Cleaning

  • There is now up to three physiotherapists working in the clinic per day and one administrator

  • We will only have limited appointments available each week but as the time goes on we hope to increase our capacity.

  • Appointments will be spaced out to enable the clinician to have time to change PPE and clean all surfaces that have been touched by either the clinician or the patients with alcohol-based spray. This includes the plinths, seat handles, door handles, taps and light switches of the treatment room and the toilet if it is used during the patients visit.

  • Where possible, windows and doors will be opened to increase ventilation

  • Gym equipment, towels and couch covers will not be used unless wipeable

  • Pillow are wipeable and will be cleaned by the clinician between sessions.

  • Couch roll will be used on the couch and pillows.

  • A deep clean of the clinic will happen daily.

 

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Non-latex gloves (single use)

  • Apron (single use)

  • IIR facemask (sessional use

Your Agreement with Us

We are doing everything we can to reduce the risk of our clinicians and patients contracting Covid-19. However, if you come for face to face treatment, please be aware that there is no way that we can eliminate the risk of you contracting Covid-19.

Please do not come in if either you or one of your household has been ill in the last two weeks. Including, but not exclusively, the following symptoms: fever over 38 degrees, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, head aches or fatigue.

 

What to Expect when you Come into the Clinic

When coming into the clinic we ask you to follow the following rules. We will terminate your appointment if you do not adhere to these rules and you will still be liable for the cost of the session:

 

On arrival at clinic:

  • On entering the clinic, the patient is required to clean their hands with alcohol gel 

  • Following hand cleaning the patient will be advised to put on their own face mask.

  • The patient will be asked the COVID 19 symptoms screening questions again.

  • Provided the patient passes these questions, treatment will proceed. 

 

On entering the treatment room: 

  • The patient will either sit on the available chair or treatment couch 

  • The therapist will conduct the subjective and objective assessment as clinically appropriate –minimising patient contact where possible. 

  • The therapist will treat as clinically appropriate. 

  • Pillow cases will not be in use, only wipe clean plastic covers. 

  • Disposable paper towel will cover the treatment couch, no blankets or soft treatment couch covers will be used. Any towels used will be washed between client uses at 90 degrees. 

On exiting the treatment room: 

  • The patient will again be asked to clean their hands with alcohol gel. 

  • The patient will pay using contactless machine, which will be wiped down after use.

  • You can then remove your mask on exiting the premises and place in the bins provided

  • Once the patient has left the premises, the therapist will remove PPE and dispose of it in the bin provided. 

Remote consultations


The team at Top To Toe Physiotherapy are still keen to help all of its current clients and any new clients who are suffering with pain or in need of advice while unable to get out of the house.


We are able to offer telephone consultations or video assessments through Zoom's free video conferencing feature if you are able to access the internet. We are also able to email out information and exercises if appropriate.


Remote appointments will be scheduled for approx. 30 minutes and the cost for each appointment will be £20. Payment can be taken over the phone by card or BACS transfer.
